Bowing Figures

These simple white figures are my attempt to portray the human soul in the soul’s world – a realm far beyond the senses, where only the subtle essence of form is visible. Originally made in porcelain for the exhibition ‘Nipon UK’ at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London in 1999, I now make these pieces from white earthenware clay.
